Top On Snow Sudelfeld Acquires the Historic Skischule Bayrischzell – Germany’s Oldest Ski School
A piece of Bavarian winter sports history is changing hands: Skischule Bayrischzell, Germany’s oldest ski school, is being sold to and acquired by Top On Snow Sudelfeld, effective October 1st. This move ensures that the renowned ski school’s century-long tradition continues into a successful future, bolstered by the expertise and innovative spirit of Top On Snow Sudelfeld.
A Blend of Tradition and Modernity
Since its inception, Skischule Bayrischzell has played a defining role in winter sports within the Wendelstein and Sudelfeld region. Generations of winter sports enthusiasts have learned their first turns here. Through the acquisition by Top On Snow Sudelfeld, this unique tradition will not only be preserved but also enhanced with modern training methods, innovative course formats, and expanded services.

A Responsible and Forward-Looking Handover
After Fritz Übelhack had managed the Bayrischzell Ski School for decades, father Klaus and son Markus Storch took over operations. Now, another deliberate step follows: the handover to Top On Snow Sudelfeld. "Deciding to hand over our long-established ski school was not easy for us. However, we are convinced that it is in the very best hands with Michael Maier and his experienced team—Susanne Maier, Berti Nagl, and Christian Simmer," explains Klaus Storch.
His son, Markus Storch, adds: "It was crucial for us that our long-standing guests could continue to rely on the highest quality. In this way, the Bayrischzell Ski School remains an integral part of the region—now with renewed strength and expanded capabilities."
